Wedding Tips
As a newly-wed myself I know exactly how stressful organising a wedding can be, particularly if you work, you have a young family or are trying desperately to stick to a strict budget! This is why I have put together some tips for you to try to relieve some of the stresses and enable you to enjoy the preparations, after all, this will be one of the most magical days of your life.
Venue - The most crucial part of the day, this needs to be researched extensively to ensure that you find the perfect place that will meet all of your requirements for your special day. Make a list of everything that is important to you for your venue, particularly if you will be having a civil ceremony there as well. Considerations to include could be location, capacity, food choices, entertainment possibilities, child friendly, parking, cost, originality etc
Transport - Consider unusal modes of transport, know any friends with nice cars? Vintage cars, Horse drawn carriage, limousines......
Flowers - consider time of year - seasonality to keep costs down. You may even choose your overall colour schemes around your favourite flower if you havent already chosen this?
Hair styles & make-up - Start looking at styles in magazines early so that you can get an idea of what you like, it's also fine to have as many trials as you like earlier than usually expected as it helps to decide your overall look and also helps when choosing jewellery and make-up.
Jewellery & Accessories - Accessorising your dress and your bridesmaid's outfits is so important. Be sure to take the time to choose the perfect accessories to compliment the overall look. Why not choose to have a tiara or necklace made that will be unique to you, Claires Crystal Classics offer exquisite jewellery made to your personal specification, you can be sure to sparkle!
Master of Ceremonies - Some venues have their own Master of Ceremonies, I would recommend that you enlist one if the venue does not provide one as they really do ensure that your day goes smoothly by liasing with the venue throughout the proceedings, organising receiving lines, announcing the Bridal party and speeches as well as ensuring that the guests are where they should be! I highly reccommend Trevor Heeks from Trowbridge: 01225 782774.
The Cake - The cake is another main focus of the day so you must be sure that you are completely happy with the style and flavour. I truly reccommend a lovely lady called Diane Crease from Trowbridge: 01225 761528
The Dress! - It's never too early to look for your dress so enjoy! Try to resist buying the first dress you see, go to a variety of shops and try a multitude of styles as it's usually the opposite of what you initially imagine that ends up being 'the one'!
The wedding morning! - Make sure that you try to relax the night before and get as much sleep as possible because your wedding day is going to be the biggest day of your life! Try to eat a protein rich breakfast to keep you going and leave that toast alone to avoid bloating!
Entertaining the Children - It's easy to overlook the younger guests when planning a wedding, particularly if you don't have children yourself. Children can get very excited at weddings because to them, it's a huge party! Unfortunately, even the best behaved child gets bored easily which then leads to the parent's getting stressed when they're trying to enjoy your big day. An ideal solution is to hire an entertainer to keep them amused, particularly during the speeches because this would be the most probable time for a temper tantrum!
